Hung Quoc Nguyen, B.A., D.D.S., Dip. Endo., M.Sc.

Dr. Hung Nguyen attended University of Toronto where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1987. He practiced comprehensive general dentistry in Toronto for 7 years. In 1994 he returned to the University of Toronto to pursue advanced training in the Endodontic specialty. Dr. Nguyen was awarded his Diploma in Endodontics in 1996. In 1998, Dr. Nguyen then completed his Masters of Science in the area of Dental Implantology and Biomaterials.  Dr. Nguyen takes great pride in providing adjunctive treatment alternatives to situations where the clinical presentation appears to be “hopeless”.

 

Dr. Nguyen achieved the status of Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics in 2004.

 

Dr. Nguyen and his family relocated to Metro Phoenix area upon completion of his graduate training. Dr. Nguyen founded Alpha Canyon Endodontics in 2001 and limited his practice to Endodontics, Microsurgery and Implantology. Dr. Nguyen is among the few Endodontists in the country that routinely includes Implantology in his practice and offers this as an alternative to extraction of non-salvageable teeth.

 

Dr. Nguyen authored/co-authored several published articles in the Journal of Endodontics and International Endodontic Journal on topics such as apex locators, lasers in dentistry, and Osteoconduction of the Endopore Implant. Dr. Nguyen also presented his research materials at several American Association of Endodontics (AAE) annual meetings and at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

 

Dr. Nguyen taught in the clinic and lectured to Endodontic residents and dental students at University of Toronto and at Arizona School of Dentistry from 1996 through 2004. Dr. Nguyen also served as president of the Vietnamese Health Professional Association of Arizona from 2007 through 2009.

 

In 2006 and 2007, Dr. Nguyen and his family volunteered with the distribution of food, clothing and personal items to flood victims in the relief efforts for natural disaster victims of coastal Vietnam who were devastated / displaced by typhoons.

Dr. Frick has enjoyed the outdoors of Arizona with his wife Liz and two daughters since 1997. After being raised in Sacramento, CA, Dr. Frick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of CA, Davis, in 1981. During the following year he worked as a chemist for Colgate-Palmolive Company in Kansas City, Kansas. Then in 1982 he entered the University of Missouri, Kansas City, School of Dentistry, graduating in 1986 with his D.D.S. After completing a General Practice Residency with the United States Air Force in Louisiana and a two-year tour in Altus, OK, Dr. Frick practiced as a general dentist in Kansas City, MO, for two years and in Madison, WI, for four years. Moving to Milwaukee, WI, in 1995, Dr. Frick began his two-year residency in the specialty of endodontics, earning a Master’s Degree in Endodontics.

 

Dr. Frick is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a member of both the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association
